Teaching at Quilt Canada 2021

Teaching at Quilt Canada

First off, I am excited to announce that I will be teaching at Quilt Canada this year!

Quilt Canada, our national quilt show hosted by the Canadian Quilters’ Association has decided to hold their conference this year from June 16-19 in a virtual format so that the show can still go on.

Originally, the plan was I would be teaching 3 workshops and presenting 2 lectures but the new format is only lectures and demos (one per teacher). You can see my other workshops and lectures here.

The topic of my lecture/slide show isShow Perfect – Photographing your Quilts”. This lecture is based on my experience taking photos of my quilts at home with minimal equipment. You will find out all the details of how you too can take great photos. The lecture will be presented on June 18 at 11:15 am CST (12:15 pm EST). You will need to register for the conference.

My quilts have been accepted into a variety of juried shows over the years based on my photos. More recently I was invited to contribute to Art Quilting Studio magazine and was given the series feature in the Autumn 2020 issue. The graphics department accepted my photos as being of good quality so I didn’t need to send my quilts in to be professionally photographed!

Sign up for the conference ($10 CAN) now! You’ll be able to take in the demos/lectures (additional $10 ea for members and $12 ea for non-members) or a package deal if you want them all. The lectures will be recorded so you can watch them at your leisure.

In addition, there are virtual quilt shows, the wonderful National Juried Show,  the Merchant Mall, and more. There are daily door prizes to be won!

You too can take good quality photos of your quilts. Join me on June 18 to find out how!
