I use the textural qualities of fabric to create light, shadow and a 3-dimensional look in my fibre art. It all starts with envisioning a certain look and mood and proceeds with a selection of fabrics that fit with that vision. Then, like putting a puzzle together, the small pieces of fabric are layered and fit together to create a picture. Thread, and occasionally ink, are used to bring out the details.
